On Wednesday 7th May, Fulham FC Foundation’s Football & Education Girls team was invited to take part in a coaching masterclass at the home of English football, St. George’s Park.
The team was invited to participate in a coaching masterclass, hosted by The Powerhouse Project as part of its coach development day. A key highlight of the day was the opportunity for the girls to be coached by former professional footballer and manager Remi Allen.
Allen delivered high-quality attacking and defensive drills, offering the players a rare chance to learn firsthand from someone with elite-level experience both on and off the pitch. Her sessions not only aimed to sharpen the girls' tactical understanding but also served as a live demonstration of her coaching methods for attending Powerhouse Project coaches.
Reflecting on the experience, Beth Roche, Head Coach for the Girls F&E team, and Powerhouse Project member shared: “Being coached by someone of Remi’s calibre was an invaluable experience, and I hope the girls took a lot away from the sessions. It was also a great chance for me to observe and learn from a top-level coach delivering outstanding sessions at the home of English football. A huge thank you to The Powerhouse Project for providing this opportunity. For many of the girls, it was their first time visiting St. George’s Park. Hopefully, it won’t be their last.”
The day was not only a learning experience, but also a memorable moment of inspiration for the players, many of whom are aspiring to have careers in coaching.
