England Under-17s’ European Championship campaign got under way with a 1-1 draw with Belgium on Tuesday.
Seth Ridgeon captained the side in Albania, and set up the opening goal with a beautiful defence-splitting pass for Alejandro Rodriguez to run onto, with the Lyon striker finishing coolly inside the near post.
An excellent free-kick from Belgium early in the second half levelled things up, and that was the way things stayed.
Ridgeon played 64 minutes of the tournament opener, before being replaced by Chelsea’s Landon Emenalo.
England U17s’ next group game pits them against Italy on Friday.
