The opposition

By Manchester City’s high standards, this season will not be one they look back on favourably, as they failed to win a trophy – Community Shield aside – for the first time since 2016/17. A dreadful run leading up to Christmas that saw them lose nine out of 12 fixtures did the damage, though they have rallied towards the end of the season and have Champions League qualification in their own hands. A point at the Cottage would likely be enough to secure it, but a win definitely would.

Craven Cottage will play host to Kevin De Bruyne’s final match as a City player. The club captain was given a fantastic send-off at the Etihad on Tuesday as they defeated Bournemouth 3-1, with City confirming plans to build a statue of the Belgian at the ground.

Programme

The 21st and final official matchday programme of the season is led by an extensive interview with Tom Cairney.

Looking back on his 10 years with Fulham in which he’s made more than 350 appearances and tasted three promotions, the skipper reflects on his changing role in a record-breaking season, and what the future might hold.

Elsewhere in the publication, Chairman Shahid Khan takes stock of the 2024/25 campaign, Marco Silva pens his regular notes, and Ken Coton delves into his picture archive to recall previous clashes with Manchester City.

We also caught up with former Fulham and City star Kit Symons, Kenny Tete answers some random questions, and we speak to Blues fan and Doves frontman Jimi Goodwin.

Packed with a host of features, the 104-page programme will be on sale around the ground on Sunday priced Β£4. Alternatively, you can pick up a copy online.
